Sawyer Michael Harris first took to the stage in the fall of 2012 with the DACC Players' production of Hairspray!. Having never acted before, Sawyer joined the acting class not realizing it was an actual performance class! Further, Sawyer had never sung in any type of musical performance - he was unaware he even could! But always open to new experiences, Sawyer decided to give acting a try. Having always been an athlete, acting was not something of which he was aware. Soon, however, he discovered his natural talent was on the stage. His acting and singing were natural qualities, and his athletic past allowed him to fit specific roles few others could play. After leaving the DACC Players, Sawyer pursued acting further by enrolling at the Acting Studio of Chicago to further develop his craft. Since his debut as Corny Collins in Hairspray!, Sawyer has starred in three films (Nefas the Wicked, Bromance, and Unexpected), a web production (The Onion.com), and episodes of the television shows Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Sirens. Sawyer returned to the DACC Players' stage to take on the role of "Rocky" in The Rocky Horror Show in the spring of 2015 and then again in the fall revival. Sawyer continues to pursue his dream of acting. He is a true DACC Players success story!
